MTV pleased a lot of fans at Comic-Con when it announced the renewal of one of its longest-running series.

“The network continued its annual tradition of announcing a series renewal at Comic-Con, this time revealing Thursday that the supernatural drama ‘Teen Wolf’ would return for a sixth season,” reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The story notes: “The drama from showrunner Jeff Davis will again return for a 20-episode season, getting the early renewal after the fifth season debuted June 29 to 1.53 million total viewers — on par with its most recent finale.”

Adds Variety, “‘Teen Wolf’ has lost some ratings steam as it kicks off its fifth season but remains one of cable’s top scripted series in adults 18-34. Its first two Monday airings this summer averaged a 0.8 rating in 18-34, a 0.6 in adults 18-49 and about 1.45 million viewers overall in Nielsen’s same-night estimates.
