Jul 27, 2015  •  Post A Comment

The 70th anniversary of a turning point in human history is at the center of the new PBS special “The Bomb,” which premieres Tuesday, July 28.

The documentary examines the story behind the detonation of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, bringing to mind the challenges that have accompanied living with the bomb in the years since — including challenges that are evident today in recent headlines about the nuclear deal with Iran.

TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin interviewed the movie’s writer and director, Rushmore DeNooyer, and got the story behind “The Bomb.” Please click here to read her full report.
