A new awards show will make its debut on TV in a few weeks. Announcing plans today for the first “Latin American Music Awards” was Telemundo, which will broadcast the event Oct. 8, live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
“The awards celebration will honor today’s most influential and iconic Latin artists, as voted by the fans in the traditional format of the ‘American Music Awards,’ the world’s biggest fan-voted award show,” Telemundo said in its announcement.
The release adds: “The two-hour show will feature performances by chart-topping talent in both English and Spanish, with a one-hour red carpet pre-show special at 8pm/7c. Nominees for the ‘Latin American Music Awards’ will be announced on September 2nd, and fans from the United States and Puerto Rico will be able to place their vote on world class artists. Tickets will go on sale September 2nd through Ticketmaster and the Dolby Theater box office.”
