The ax has fallen for one cable sitcom, which was canceled by its network after a three-season run. Nickelodeon is pulling the plug on “Instant Mom” after the show wraps its current third season, Deadline.com reports.

“The network has informed the cast and the crew of the family comedy starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict that the show won’t be renewed for a fourth season,” the story reports, adding: “Three seasons has been the longest a Nick at Nite original series has run, matched by the block’s first original comedy, ‘See Dad Run,’ though ‘Instant Mom’ produced more episodes, 65, to ‘See Dad Run‘s’ 50.”

Nick at Nite is reportedly shelving its original programming for the time being, although the report notes that a number of projects are in various stages of development.

The series finale for “Instant Mom” is scheduled for December. The show also stars Michael Boatman, Sydney Park and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
