“‘Nashville’ production is ‘adapting’ to the sudden departure of star Hayden Panettiere, who is currently seeking treatment for postpartum depression,” reports our friend Michael Ausiello at TVLine.

Panettiere has starred as Juliette Barnes on the ABC musical drama series since it launched in 2012. “Friday Night Lights” alumna Connie Britton also stars.

People magazine’s online website first broke the story Tuesday afternoon, quoting a rep for Panettiere, 26, saying the actress “is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time.”

The People story adds: “Panettiere, who is mom to 10-month-old daughter Kaya Evodokia with her fiancé, professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko, has been open about her struggle since her baby girl’s birth last December.”
