Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian Avoid Criminal Charges

It’s hardly a felony case, but two members of the Kardashian clan dodged a legal bullet when the District Attorney in Los Angeles County decided not to pursue charges in a fireworks incident.

TMZ.com reports that Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian were in hot water over a “massive fireworks display they set off in the middle of the night … terrifying beach residents.” The incident took place during a yacht party for NBA star James Harden, Khloe’s boyfriend, in the early-morning hours of Aug. 26.

After wrapping up its investigation, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department reportedly recommended a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace. But TMZ reports that the D.A. declined to pursue the case, indicating that the Kardashians had “passive permission.”

TMZ notes: “The Coast Guard gave the Sheriff a heads up that Kris’ production co. would be lighting up the sky that night, and didn’t need a permit since the boat was outside the marina. Still, angry residents wanted the Sheriff to bust them for violating noise ordinances.”

Some of the residents will reportedly pursue a small claims suit.
