Actor Randy Quaid, who has been living in Canada in what some reports describe as self-imposed exile, was arrested Tuesday in Montreal — his second arrest this year in the city, the Toronto Globe and Mail reports.

The Oscar-nominated actor, best known for his work in feature films such as the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movies, “Brokeback Mountain” and “Kingpin” — along with his Academy Award-nominated performance in “The Last Detail” — is reportedly scheduled to appear Thursday before the Immigration and Refugee Board in Montreal.

The circumstances behind Quaid’s arrest were not revealed, but it has been reported that he may get kicked out of Canada. The Globe and Mail notes that his bid for permanent residency in the country was denied in 2012.

Quaid and his wife, who is Canadian, “fled north of the border in 2010, saying they were the victims of persecution,” the publication reports. “The couple have sought to stay in Canada and have said they were being hunted by ‘Hollywood star-whackers,’ but their arrival in this country came as they faced a number of legal problems in the United States.”

Following his arrest earlier this year in Montreal, Quaid reportedly posted $10,000 bail and agreed to conditions such as checking in with border officials every two weeks.

The New York Daily News reports that Quaid’s wife, Evi, took to Twitter after the latest incident and railed against Canada.

She reportedly tweeted: “CBSA officer that illegally arrested us asked how much money we had…he is a criminal…i love that Canada needs to learn how to wake up and criticize its crappy government ps we got arrested by an actual tall midget.”

Her Twitter rant also targeted Canada Prime Minister Stephen Harper, calling him “such a f—ing a–hole,” and wrote that Canada is “a s—hole of a wilting country with no centre other then harpers fat head (sic).”
