The NBC reality competition “America’s Got Talent” will have a new judge in its upcoming season. Entertainment Weekly reports that Simon Cowell will take Howard Stern’s spot for season 11.

Cowell, a staple in TV talent competitions, is a former “American Idol” judge and one of the creators of “America’s Got Talent.”

In a statement, Cowell said: “I am really thrilled to be joining ‘America’s Got Talent’ next season. What I love about this show is that it’s open to absolutely anyone. America has some fantastic talent just waiting to be discovered, and I would like that talent to come to our show, including any dogs who can sing!”

Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, commented: “Simon knows this format better than anyone and he’s been producing the show with us since the beginning, so we’re thrilled to have him to step in front of the camera and take his rightful place at the head of the judges’ panel. We welcome him to the on-screen NBC family.”

The show’s other judges are Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B.

  1. What a mistake. Simon Cowell is a bigger jerk than Donald Trump and he’s the only one who doesn’t know this.
