NBC’s Al Roker Files Complaint About Taxi Incident

Nov 23, 2015  •  Post A Comment

Al Roker of NBC’s “Today” show is talking about an incident over the weekend that prompted him to file a complaint with the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.

TVNewser reports that Roker said a New York City taxi driver refused to pick him up and then stopped to pick up a white man a block away.

Roker discussed the incident on Twitter, writing: “This happens to folks of color every day. And while most cabbies do their job, there are those ignorant, racist ones who hurt the others.”

He added that he’s “looking forward to a hearing” to discuss the incident, and says he will encourage the commission to “weed out the bad apples.”
