An actress who had a long TV career highlighted by a string of appearances on CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” has died. Variety reports that Margaret Hall, 84, died Dec. 21 in New York.

Hall reportedly died of natural causes.

Her TV career spanned several decades, including a run as Mrs. Floyd on the miniseries “Mildred Pierce” as recently as 2011. Earlier in her career, she was on soaps including “One Life to Live” and “As the World Turns.”

She was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in 1997 as part of the ensemble cast of the AMC comedy series “Remember WENN.”

“Hall was a participant on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ for eight months in 2004-05, each night waving goodnight to the audience with a huge bouquet of flowers in-arms,” Variety notes.

In addition to her TV career, Variety reports that Hall appeared on Broadway with Laurence Olivier in “Becket.”

Her other appearances included the TV movie “Summer of My German Soldier” in 1978 and the 1965 telepic “The Holy Terror.” Hall also did feature work, including a role in “Weekend at Bernie’s” in 1989.
