CTAM, the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, has named a new president and CEO following the departure of John Lansing in September.

The organization announced today that it has appointed Vicki Lins to the post.

”Vicki is first and foremost a seasoned senior marketer with deep experience in media and technology businesses. In turn, she has worked closely with distributors, programmers, suppliers and agencies, and has a strong network of connections that puts her in an optimum position to build bridges and align CTAM members as we move forward together,” said Mark Greatrex, chair of the CTAM Board of Directors, and EVP, chief marketing and sales officer, Cox Communications. “The selection committee uniformly agreed that she will bring new energy and perspective to help CTAM positively position the collective brand, strengthen the pay-TV business model, and market best-in-class consumer experiences.”

The announcement adds: “Ms. Lins’ two most recent positions were as EVP and chief marketing officer for United Way Worldwide and Clear Channel Outdoor, where she directed strategic transformations to reposition the brands and businesses for greater success. Prior to Clear Channel, Lins spent 15 years at Comcast and Canoe Ventures, the industry’s advanced television consortium, where she led marketing, most notably launching the Comcast Spotlight brand, pioneering Video On Demand advertising solutions, and developing an industry-wide consumer brand for interactive TV. Previous to Comcast, Lins headed marketing and communications for Adlink, introducing strategic marketing initiatives and building partnerships that accelerated revenue growth.”

Lins commented on the appointment, saying: “I’m excited by the prospect of returning to the industry in this dynamic and fast-paced business environment, and to build on CTAM’s highly-regarded successes. In addition to the programs and products CTAM develops, I believe the organization is well-positioned to elevate and amplify the innovative consumer experiences that CTAM members provide today and are developing for the future.”
