Veteran writer Tim Goodman, chief TV critic for The Hollywood Reporter, names his favorite broadcast network shows of 2015 in a report published today.
The report notes that the “broad” in “broadcast” carries with it some inherent limitations. “The trouble with trying to appeal to the largest audience is that you have to avoid turning anyone off; being palatable is preferable,” Goodman writes.
But he adds that a number of network series have been doing “strong, creative work.”
No. 1 on his list is CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” followed by Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” at No. 2 and ABC’s “Fresh Off the Boat” at No. 3.
