Fox’s live musical presentation of “Grease” attracted a big audience — about three times what the network usually brings in on a Sunday night, according to Nielsen.
The AP reports that the broadcast had 12.2 million total viewers, a little more than the two most recent live musicals televised by NBC. NBC’s December airing of “The Wiz” had 11.5 million viewers.
USA Today adds: “The ‘Grease’ audience was just under the 12.5 million who watched the Republican presidential debate last week on Fox News Channel — but ‘Grease’ may inch past it with delayed viewing.”
