For the second time, a contestant from season 14 of ABC’s “The Bachelor” is dead in an apparent suicide. People magazine reports Alexa “Lex” McAllister died early today.

McAllister, 31, is described as an Ohio socialite. She was taken to a Columbus medical center Saturday in stable condition after a 911 call from someone who said she threatened to kill herself, the publication reports, citing a police record.

“The caller checked on McAllister at her home, where empty prescription bottles were found,” People reports. “The report states that McAllister regained consciousness but ‘was unable to state to medics what kind of medication she took.'”

McAllister’s death follows that of season 14 contestant Gia Allemand, who hanged herself in 2013.

  1. I can only imagine that the public exploitation of appearing on that show would send anyone reeling into depression.
