Iowa Caucus Coverage Gives Fox News, CNN Something to Crow About

The 2016 presidential election continues to be a big ratings draw for cable news channels, and coverage last night of the Iowa caucuses gave both CNN and Fox News Channel a chance to claim victory.

Deadline.com reports that Fox News took a narrow win in the battle for total viewers, while CNN came out on top in the key news demo.

Fox News averaged 3.4 million total viewers for the period from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. ET, with CNN delivering 3.02 million and MSNBC averaging 1.7 million. In the 25-54 demo, CNN led the way with 1.2 million viewers, followed by Fox News with 928,000 and MSNBC with 510,000.

CNN also won prime time in the key news demo with 1.394 million, followed by FNC with 1.165 million and MSNBC with 592,000.
