A supermodel who became a household name and now oversees an empire says she’s finished with modeling. TMZ.com reports that Cindy Crawford said she will retire this month after 34 years in front of the cameras.

“Crawford told United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine she plans to retire from modeling when she turns the big 5-0 in February,” the story reports.

Crawford is quoted saying: “I’m sure ill have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore.” She adds: “What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

Crawford quit full-time modeling in 2000 but has continued to do celebrity endorsements. She also has the Meaningful Beauty line of beauty products and the Cindy Crawford Home Collection furniture line, among other enterprises.

She has appeared in a number of films and TV shows over the years, including hosting “MTV’s House of Style” in the 1990s.

Here’s a clip from a recent appearance by Crawford on “Conan”:
