A woman who was a contestant on the ABC reality series “The Bachelor” was killed in a plane crash Monday in the Hawthorne section of Los Angeles. People magazine reports that Erin Storm, who was a contestant on season 12, died in the crash.

Local news outlets reported that the crash took place around noon Monday, when the ultralight plane hit a tree on West 120th Street. Storm, who was pulled from the wreckage in full cardiac arrest, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Storm was not identified in early reports of the crash. CBSLA.com reported: “Crews put out the flames and freed the woman — who was in full cardiac arrest — from the plane, county fire Capt. Keith Mora said.”

The report adds: “The aircraft was an Airborne XT-912, a light-sport, weight-shift-control plane, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Ian Gregor.” The crash caused the closure of the roadway for several hours. Storm was the only person on board.

People notes that Storm was working as a pilot for Pacific Blue Air, an aircraft training facility based at the Hawthorne Municipal Airport.
