All that was at stake was making it to the magical round dubbed the Sweet 16 — the sixteen teams that survive the first weekend of the college basketball tournament known as March Madness.
Northern Iowa, the underdog, had a virtual lock on winning the game. They were ahead of Texas A&M by 12 points with 44 seconds left in the game.
As you’ll see in the video, by the time the final buzzer went off in regulation play, the Texas A&M Aggies had tied the score. They then won the game after two overtimes.
