Pop star Ariana Grande, hosting “Saturday Night Live” for the first time, recalled a number of her controversies during the opening monologue — including her doughnut-licking scandal — and then apparently stepped into another one.

TVLine reports that Grande unleashed the S-word during a musical number. It was unclear whether the slip was accidental or intentional, the story reports, noting that the theme of the monologue and the musical bit was about how Grande wanted to have a grown-up scandal.

  1. Hasn’t the world grown past this level of political correctness on a late night show? Watch and listen to how many times the “F” word is used by coaches and players in the NCAA tournament this next two weeks during prime time. With the expansion of cable – online and premium networks, language like this is more than common. If people don’t want to watch programs with this language they can turn the channel. If Donald Trump can talk about appendages that are larger than his fingers in a national political debate, what is the problem with a little sh**?

  2. What’s the big deal? That word has been permissible after 10 pm on the ‘networks’ for years and was heard fairly often in prime-time programs… at least for a while til the novelty wore off.
