A new project from the creator of the hit ABC Family/Freeform teen drama “Pretty Little Liars” has received a series order from Freeform. Variety reports that the network ordered “Famous in Love” from proven hit-maker Marlene King.

The new project stars former Disney starlet Bella Thorne, known for her work on “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Big Love” and “Shake It Up.”

“Based on Rebecca Serle’s romantic novel of the same name, ‘Famous in Love’ follows ordinary college student Paige (Thorne), who gets her big break after auditioning for the starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster,” Variety reports. “Thrown into fame, Paige must now navigate her new star-studded life and undeniable chemistry with her two co-leads, while uncovering the truth about what happened to a famous missing popstar.”

The series order has been considered a done deal since a pilot, co-written by Serle and King, was produced late last year. Serle will be a co-executive producer on the series, which comes from Warner Horizon Television, the same studio behind “Pretty Little Liars.”
