Report: Now That Megyn Kelly Has Made Her Negotiations With Fox Public, Here’s How Much Money She May Need to Stay There

Megyn Kelly’s star has never been brighter at Fox News — thanks in no small part to her high-profile run-ins with Donald Trump. Now, with Kelly going public about weighing her options, as we reported earlier this week, media watchers are speculating about how much it will take for Fox to keep her in house after her contract expires in summer 2017.

The New York Post’s Page Six, which talked with media insiders this week, said the consensus appears to be that Kelly will remain at Fox — and that she will probably get about $15 million a year to stay. That would give her what she wants, insiders say, which is to be on a par with her rival Bill O’Reilly. Kelly reportedly now earns up to $9 million a year, with O’Reilly, who has been the network’s top draw since 2001, said to be in the $15 million to $17 million range.

One source, quoted anonymously, said of Kelly’s comments this week: “This sounds like a negotiating tactic. Megyn will take meetings with others but she has the best platform at Fox News.”
