The Upcoming ‘Baywatch’ Movie Wouldn’t Be the Same Without This Actress — And She’s In

A fixture of the original “Baywatch” TV series has joined the upcoming movie remake, which will star Dwayne Johnson. Variety reports that Pamela Anderson, who became a major star while playing C.J. Parker on the TV show, is on board for the movie — but she won’t be playing her original role.

Anderson joins the project in an unknown role, after the producers cast model Kelly Rohrbach as C.J. back in January.

Johnson put the word out Thursday night about the casting of Anderson in an Instagram post, writing: “She introduced the world to ‘CJ Parker’ and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation — for the most successful TV show of all time. A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #Baywatch cast. We couldn’t have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!”

The movie is due out in May 2017.
