A popular local food reporter has been stabbed to death, People reports. Also killed was her youngest son, 17. Both were killed by the reporter’s oldest son, the story says.

“Popular Dallas food reporter Stacy Fawcett – known as “Dallas’ Favorite Foodie,” on Channel 8’s News 8 Daybreak – has died,” the article says. Channel 8 is WFAA, owned by Tegna Media.

The article continues, “In a statement obtained by People, the Plano Police Department confirmed that Fawcett, 45, and her son Josiah Utu, 17, both suffered fatal stab wounds early Friday [April 8, 2016] when Fawcett’s eldest son 19-year-old McCann Utu Jr. attacked the pair before stabbing himself.”

Utu Jr. later died at a hospital, the report notes.

The story adds that Stacy Fawcett’s brother “said that his nephew had been different since suffering a traumatic brain injury over a year ago, the Dallas Morning News reports.” In the video, below, the report says the brain injury may have been caused by two sports-related concussions.

  1. It could have been the brain injury that must have caused the stabbing
