BET Awards Nominees Announced — Rihanna and Beyonce Grab Five Nods Apiece, But One Rapper Dominates With Nine Nominations

Nominations were announced for the 2016 BET Awards, with the ceremony set to air live on BET June 26 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Some of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B dominate the nominations, led by rapper Drake with nine nods. Rihanna and Beyonce each have five nominations.

Drake will be going up against Fetty Wap, Future, J. Cole, Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar in the category of Best Male Hip Hop Artist. The nominees for Best Female Hip Hop Artist are Dej Loaf, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma.

BET also unveiled a dance video spotlighting the nominees for Best Collaboration, Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Female Hip Hop Artist, which you can watch below. The clip features choreographer Will “WilldaBeast” Adams and his partner Janelle Ginestra.
