A well-known football analyst and former NFL player is exiting ESPN for a job with Fox Sports. Chris Spielman, who joined ESPN in 2001, returns to Fox Sports, where he began his broadcasting career in 1999.

Spielman was a four-time Pro Bowl selection as a linebacker with the Detroit Lions, one of three NFL teams he played with during a career spanning 1988-1999. He has been working mainly as a color analyst on college football games at ESPN.

At Fox Sports the former Ohio State All-American will be a game analyst during the upcoming NFL season and will also contribute to the network’s college football coverage.

John Entz, Fox Sports president of production and executive producer, made the announcement.

Said Entz: “Chris is a tremendous broadcaster with a wealth of NFL and college football knowledge. His outstanding career both on and off the field brings a huge amount of credibility to Fox Sports. We feel really fortunate to have him with us.”
