One Dead, Three Wounded in Shooting at Hip Hop Concert; Rapper Injured

A concert by a well-known hip hop artist turned deadly Wednesday night when shooting erupted inside the concert venue. USA Today reports that one person was killed and three others were injured in the shooting at at T.I. concert in New York.

Among those injured in the shooting at Irving Plaza was New York rapper Troy Ave, who was taken to a hospital after being shot in the leg, according to media reports.

The shooting broke out in a green room area at about 10:15 p.m., shortly before T.I. was expected to take the stage.

“One of the victims was in critical but stable condition on Thursday. No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting is unclear,” USA Today reports.

Witnesses indicated that an argument broke out between two groups of people shortly before the shooting.

“Manhattan Chief of Detectives William Aubry said a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach and died at a hospital,” USA Today reports. “A 34-year-old man was in critical but stable condition with a chest wound. A 26-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man with leg wounds were expected to survive.”

Performers Maino and Uncle Murda were reportedly on stage when the shooting broke out.
