ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Rants About the Olympics and the Zika Virus

Jun 7, 2016  •  Post A Comment

Sports commentator Stephen A. Smith got fired up this morning on ESPN’s “First Take,” ranting about the Olympics, with the Zika virus, the water supply in Rio and the threat of terrorism among his concerns. Smith’s issues with the Olympics came up during a discussion about a number of NBA players who have said they won’t be participating in the Summer Games, many of them citing injury concerns.

Smith’s foil at the debate desk, Skip Bayless, offered his own complaints about the Olympics from a competition standpoint, saying he’s not interested in seeing the NBA-dominated USA basketball team crush the teams of other countries of the world.
