Kennedy Center Announces 2016 Honorees

An Oscar-winning actor and one of the most successful rock bands of all time are among the recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. The organization announced today that Al Pacino, an Academy Award winner in 1993 for “Scent of a Woman,” and the legendary rock band the Eagles are among the five honorees.

Also to be honored are singer-songwriter James Taylor, gospel and blues singer Mavis Staples and Argentine pianist Martha Argerich.

The honors will be handed out at “The 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors,” which will be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 27, by CBS.
