Jun 1, 2016  •  Post A Comment

ABC, which will broadcast the NBA Finals this month under the “ESPN on ABC” banner, announced details on its coverage, which tips off Thursday, June 2. The series will feature the Cleveland Cavaliers against the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

The announcement notes a couple of historic achievements. “The team of Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Doris Burke will call their record seventh NBA Finals as a full broadcast team — the most for an NBA Finals quartet on TV,” the announcement notes. “Additionally, Jeff Van Gundy will call his record 10th NBA Finals, the most ever for a Finals TV game analyst.”

Breen set the NBA Finals record for a play-by-play voice in 2015, and will call his 11th Finals this year.

“SportsCenter,” “NBA Countdown,” “Mike & Mike” and “The Jump” will all have an on-site presence during the coverage. Additionally, the NBA Finals will be broadcast in Spanish on ESPN Deportes.

Should the series go the full seven games, Game 7 will take place Sunday, June 19.
