Will Tribune-Dish Standoff Go to Arbitrator?

Jun 16, 2016  •  Post A Comment

The impasse in negotiations between Dish Network and Tribune Media, which has caused 42 stations and WGN America to go dark on Dish systems, will go to an arbitrator if Dish has its way.

“Dish asked Tribune to agree to ‘binding, baseball-style arbitration’ that would ‘determine the fair market value of their channels’ — and, in the meantime, allow the satellite company to air the services that went dark on Sunday,” Deadline.com reports. “That left about 5 million satellite customers unable to see Tribune stations, and about 7 million unable to watch WGNA.”

Said Warren Schlichting, Dish EVP of Programming: “We want to return these local stations to our customers immediately, and binding, baseball-style arbitration offers a path to reach a fair deal and to serve the best interests of our customers.”

  1. Tell your customers to get DirecTv and they can add an ATT account and get unlimited data. Great deal and you get all of your channels
