Cast Changes for ‘Walking Dead’

The hit AMC zombie drama series “The Walking Dead,” which wrapped up its sixth season in April, is tweaking the cast for season seven.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the cast of series regulars will swell to an all-time high of 20 with the promotion of four actors who played smaller roles in season six: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio and Xander Berkeley.

Morgan debuted as the villain Negan in the season finale, but THR notes: “All four play key characters from the comic books. Payne is hero Jesus, currently supporting Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his band of survivors. Amelio is Dwight, a badly burned member of Negan’s dastardly Saviors who has a particular bone to pick with Daryl (Norman Reedus). And Berkeley is Gregory, the shady leader of the Hilltop Colony who is poised to clash with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) — provided the pregnant Alexandria Safe Zone resident survives the finale.”
