A former analyst for CNN has joined CBS News as senior national security analyst. TVNewser reports that Fran Townsend joins the network effective immediately.
“Townsend will contribute to CBS News coverage of homeland security, foreign policy counterterrorism and intelligence, and appear on the network’s digital streaming service, CBSN,” the story reports.
The report notes that Townsend is a former homeland security and counterterrorism adviser to President George W. Bush and a former national security analyst for CNN.
