The Italian broadcaster Rai apologized for cutting “How to Get Away With Murder” to delete a gay sex scene. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the public broadcaster sparked an outcry with the edit.
“The scene in question from the pilot episode reveals how character Connor (Jack Falahee) obtains sensitive case documents for Annalise (Viola Davis) via a steamy hook-up with Oliver (Conrad Riamora),” THR notes.
After Falahee and show creator Peter Nowalk commented online about the edit, Italian viewers took to social media to complain. Rai responded with an apology, blaming “an excess of modesty” and promising to air the episode in its original form.
