A series based on a Marvel superhero has been picked up for a new season. Making the renewal announcement at Comic-Con, Netflix revealed that it will bring back “Daredevil” for season three.

The network has already ordered a spinoff series, “Marvel’s The Punisher.”

“Daredevil,” which premiered its second season on the streaming service back in March, was the first Marvel show for Netflix, which has since expanded on its Marvel franchise. The streamer’s Comic-Con panel focused on “Marvel’s Luke Cage” and “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” along with the upcoming “Marvel’s Iron Fist” and “Marvel’s The Defenders,” due in 2017, which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

Season three of “Daredevil,” from creator Drew Goddard, is due in 2017.
