The nephew of a reality TV personality was convicted Thursday of shooting him during a funeral procession. The AP reports that Gai Scott was found guilty of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the shooting of Benzino.

“Benzino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, suffered non-life-threatening wounds to his shoulder and back in the March 2014 shooting,” the AP reports. Gai Scott, who was cleared of armed assault with intent to murder, is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 26.

At the time of the shooting in Massachusetts, Benzino, a hip hop artist, was appearing on the VH1 reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” and was CEO of Hip Hop Weekly, the report notes.

“Authorities say both men were in moving vehicles on the way to a Plymouth church for the funeral of Raymond Scott’s mother,” the AP reports. “Prosecutors say the shooting stemmed from a family dispute.”
