A new TV series focusing on a real-life figure whose name has become synonymous with genius has landed an Oscar-winning actor in the lead role. Deadline.com reports that Geoffrey Rush signed on for the lead role in “Genius,” which tracks Albert Einstein.

The anthology series is in the works at National Geographic, and comes from Fox 21 TV Studios and Imagine Television.

Rush is a winner of the “Triple Crown of Acting,” having won the Oscar, the Emmy and the Tony.

“Also joining the cast is Johnny Flynn (‘Clouds of Sils Maria’), who will play Einstein in the years before he rose to international attention and acclaim,” Deadline reports. “Imagine principal, Oscar-winning helmer Ron Howard, is set to direct the first episode of the series, whose maiden season will focus on famous physicist Albert Einstein, based on Walter Isaacson’s biography ‘Einstein: His Life and Universe.'”

The series is set for a 10-episode run.
