‘America’s Got Talent’ Wraps Up on a High Note for NBC

Wednesday night’s two-hour season finale of “America’s Got Talent,” which has been a strong ratings performer for NBC all summer, lifted the network to another big night in prime time. NBC announced that the program was up 29% from last year in the key 18-49 demo with a 2.7 rating, the show’s highest-rated finale in five years.

The network cited Nielsen fast affiliate data.

NBC also reported that last night’s “Talent” surged 46% in total viewers from last year, delivering 14.138 million, up from 9.685 million a year ago.

The network also reported strong sampling for the show’s 10 p.m. leadout, the season two premiere of “Blindspot,” which was up 23% from last May’s season finale with a 1.6 average in 18-49, and up 24% in total viewers with 7.284 million.
