‘Live with Kelly’ Names Co-Hosts for Week of Oct. 3, Including a Three-Day Run for One of the Top Contenders for the Permanant Job

We may have a new front-runner for the permanent co-hosting job on “Live with Kelly,” with the show announcing today that Fred Savage will be co-hosting three days during the week of Oct. 3.

The other guest co-hosts for the week are Jerry O’Connell and Ashton Kutcher.

Savage, best known for his run as Kevin Arnold on “The Wonder Years” back in the late ’80s and early ’90s, has been among the recurring guest hosts in recent weeks — as has O’Connell, who is also considered to be one of the strongest candidates for the permanent job.

Here’s the schedule released today for the week of Oct. 3-7:

Monday, October 3 – Actor JERRY O’CONNELL

Tuesday, October 4 – Actor FRED SAVAGE

Wednesday, October 5 – Actor FRED SAVAGE

Thursday, October 6 – Actor FRED SAVAGE

Friday, October 7 – Actor ASHTON KUTCHER

  1. They’ll never name a new cohost…nobody wants to work with Kelly obviously..

  2. Fred is a natural and naturally funny. I remember the first day he co-hosted after Michael left, he was so funny that I had to watch it again and Kelly was laughing so hard, she had to put her head down on the desk!

I like Jerry, too, but his personality is a little too strong for the easy-going nature this team needs, especially during the host-chat segment.

I’m rooting for Fred! I hope I’m right, because my record is perfect so far. Michael Strahan was my choice the last time around, and they had four very entertaining years together.

  3. Don’t think Fred Savage is a good choice. He tries too hard to be funny and it shows. Anderson Cooper is a great choice because they have a good repore’.
