Magazine Reporter Who Has Focused on Roger Ailes Signs On With Major TV News Operation

An author and magazine reporter who has been a player in the downfall of Fox News chief Roger Ailes has joined NBC News as a contributor to the broadcast network and MSNBC. Politico reports that the network announced Tuesday that it has signed Gabriel Sherman.

Sherman reports for New York magazine and penned the unauthorized 2014 Roger Ailes biography “The Loudest Voice in the Room.” The writer was reportedly the focus of a 400-page memo commissioned by Ailes and circulated at Fox News.

His role at New York magazine will reportedly be unchanged.

Politico cites an NBC executive confirming that the deal with Sherman was in the works for some time. Sherman will reportedly contribute on topics related to politics and the media.

Sherman has recently provided aggressive coverage of Gretchen Carlson’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes and Fox News, which was settled this week, as we reported Tuesday.
