Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appear to be lawyering up after Jolie filed for a divorce from Pitt. People magazine cites a source saying Pitt is unlikely to accept the custody arrangement Jolie is seeking, which would give her physical custody with Pitt granted visitation.
The source is quoted saying: “Brad thinks Angelina is a great mother. But he is also a great father. There is no way he is going to be absent for any part of his kids’ lives.”
The couple have been together for 12 years and married for 2 years.
The insider does not expect a long conflict. The source told People: “This will ideally be resolved, amicably, long before any sort of legal battle ensues.”
Pitt provided a statement to People saying: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
