Fox is developing a new comedy project whose bloodlines can be traced to “Modern Family” and “The Odd Couple.” Variety reports that the broadcast net bought a script for the workplace comedy “Type-A” from writer Lesley Wake Webster and executive producer Jason Winer.

The project, from 20th Century Fox, has a script plus penalty commitment from Fox, Variety notes.

Wake Webster, who wrote the script, is set to executive produce along with Winer. Wake Webster has been a co-executive producer on “The Odd Couple” and supervising producer on “American Dad.” Winer, best known for his directing work on “Modern Family,” has a long-term relationship with 20th Century Fox TV that also includes work on “Life in Pieces,” Variety notes.
