The chief executive at Netflix talked about the company’s huge spending on programming, saying the outlays won’t affect subscription prices.
The subject came up during the company’s third-quarter conference call with analysts. Deadline.com quotes CEO Reed Hastings saying Netflix has “no plans for price increases,” beyond a legally mandated hike in Brazil to adjust for inflation.
Hastings is quoted in the report saying: “There’s a lot of competition entering the market. We don’t want to get overconfident because we had a good couple of years.”
Deadline adds: “He reiterated that he’s ‘looking at’ the possibility of allowing subscribers to download Netflix content, but has ‘nothing specific to offer.’”
