Is There Room for Two Kellys on ‘Live With Kelly’? Rumors Fly After Megyn Kelly Books Co-Hosting Spot

Megyn Kelly, the media darling of the current election cycle — whose contract with Fox News is about to run out — booked a special appearance as co-host alongside Kelly Ripa on “Live with Kelly” on the morning after the presidential election, Deadline.com reports.

“Cue up speculation that Kelly is flirting with ABC News — ‘Live with Kelly’ being syndicated by ABC parent Disney, and a time slot competitor to NBC News’ cash cow ‘Today’ show,” Deadline notes.

The report adds: “In one of those incredible coincidences, word of the booking on the significant election-cycle morning broke the same day Fox News interim CEO Rupert Murdoch gave an interview to his newspaper Wall Street Journal, to  publicly announce Kelly is important to the network and he hopes to get her under contract ‘very soon,’ while adding, ominously, ‘We have a deep bench of talent, many of whom would give their right arm for her’ time slot.”

Megyn Kelly, whose Fox News contract comes up next year, will be co-hosting with Kelly Ripa for the first time.

  1. Those two deserve each other.

  2. Nothing stated about Rupert owning the WSJ….

  3. Jim, the article reads “Rupert Murdoch gave an interview to HIS (my emphasis added) newspaper Wall Street Journal” (in case you missed that). I apologize in advance if the article added that after you pointed it out.
