In the aftermath of a robbery in Paris in which Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint, bound and gagged while the gang of robbers made off with jewelry worth millions, the reality star today filed a federal lawsuit against the website MediaTakeOut.com, ET News reports. Kardashian, 35, is alleging that the site lied when it reported that evidence indicated Kardashian had staged the robbery.

The report cites a headline that reportedly ran on the website saying: “MTO Shock Exclusive: New Evidence Suggests… Kim Kardashian And Her Mother ‘STAGED’ The Robbery… Just Like RYAN LOCHTE!! (Here Are The FACTS)”

The site also reportedly said French authorities suspected Kardashian had let the robbers into the apartment.

“A later post noted that Kim had filed an insurance claim for her stolen jewelry and that ‘if she faked the robbery … she just committed a FEDERAL CRIME.’ According to the lawsuit, Kim alleges the website cited ‘unidentified and clearly uninformed’ people on social media as its sources,” ET reports.

The lawsuit reportedly states: “After having been the victim of a horrific and traumatic armed robbery in France, Kim Kardashian returned to the United States only to again be victimized, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her [as] a liar and thief. Defendants’ reckless and malicious publication of the Articles was calculated to cause maximum harm to Kardashian.”

Kardashian reportedly demanded a retraction from the website along with an apology, but according to court papers cited by ET, the request was “ignored.”

The website appears to have taken down the posts in question.
