Trump Foundation Hit With ‘Cease and Desist’ Order Over New York Fundraising Efforts

Oct 3, 2016  •  Post A Comment

The Trump Foundation has been issued a “cease and desist” order to stop soliciting contributions in the state of New York. Variety reports that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman issued the order.

“Schneiderman said that the foundation was violating a section of state law requiring ‘charitable organizations that solicit contributions in New York State to register with the Charities Bureau and to provide annual financial reports and annual audited financial statements,'” the story reports.

The story notes that Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold said last week that the foundation did not have the certification required to raise money.

“He also reported that Trump has directed money for services rendered to the foundation, including a $400,000 fee for appearing at a Comedy Central roast,” Variety reports.

  1. So has the Clinton foundation received a similar order?

  2. No way. The media is in the tank for Clinton.
