Nov 3, 2016  •  Post A Comment

Politico made a couple of major personnel moves today, bringing aboard New York Times deputy political editor Paul Volpe as executive editor and shifting Peter Canellos to editor-at-large.

Canellos had been Politico’s executive editor for the past two years.

Volpe has also been serving as deputy Washington bureau chief for digital at The Times.

In today’s announcement, Politico said Canellos “will take on a new role of editor-at-large, leading a newsroom-wide effort to make Politico a top outlet for high-impact investigative pieces.”

Politico’s incoming editor Carrie Budoff Brown, along with editor-in-chief John Harris, announced the moves in a note to Politico staffers, which you can read by clicking here.
