Former Trump Lieutenant Exits CNN

A Trump insider whose relationship with CNN stirred controversy during the election campaign has exited the cable network. Variety cites a spokeswoman for CNN confirming that commentator Corey Lewandowski is out.

“Lewandowski served as a campaign manager for Trump before parting ways, then joined CNN in June,” Variety notes. “The move raised eyebrows, and had CNN Worldwide President [Jeff Zucker] answering questions about whether a partisan commentator — who, as it turned out, continued to collect severance from the Trump campaign — should be allowed on CNN.”

Due to a non-disclosure agreement, Lewandowski sat out discussions on certain subjects.

“To some viewers and critics, his hire represented a violation of traditional standards of journalism,” Variety adds. “Fox News Channel primetime anchor Sean Hannity was reprimanded in September, for example, for appearing in a promotional video for the Trump campaign.”

  1. It was ok for Donna Brazille to work at CNN and hand over debate questions to a candidate. But Lewandowski was a problem?

  2. Guilty Cleric,
When dealing with progressives it’s always like an Alannis Morrisette song, a little too ironic… don’t you think?

  3. This election cost CNN a lot of its credibility. Wolf consulting with the Clinton campaign also didn’t help. My friends also considered CNN the middle network between MSNBC and Fox. That has completely changed
