A new show is in the works that will try to shoehorn itself into the daytime panel talk space currently overflowing with CBS’s “The Talk,” ABC’s “The View” and “The Chew,” and the syndicated hit “The Real.”
The New York Post’s Page Six reports that the latest project is in the works at NBCUniversal-owned cable network E!, where executives are eyeing daytime TV as a way to pick up some of the slack from falling ratings at its flagship “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
The report cites Insiders saying E! has developed a pilot for a daily panel talk program.
“The new show will target a millennial audience with a bent toward celebrity news — also a mainstay of the network, which hosted pop culture-obsessed shows such as Chelsea Handler’s ‘Chelsea Lately’ and Joel McHale’s ‘The Soup.'” The Post reports.
