One of the stars of a cable reality show is dead, and indications are that she overdosed. TMZ.com reports that Valerie Fairman, who was featured on MTV’s “16 and Pregnant,” is dead at 23.

“Valerie’s mom tells us she was at a friend’s home in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Wednesday when the friend repeatedly called for Valerie, who was in the bathroom, but she did not come out. We’re told the friend broke down the door and found her unresponsive,” TMZ reports.

Toxicology tests were to be conducted to determine her cause of death, but her family indicated it appeared to be an overdose.

Fairman’s story was featured on the MTV reality show back in 2010, with the episode covering the birth of her daughter, Nevaeh, on Sept. 14, 2009. Nevaeh is reportedly now with Valerie’s mom.

TMZ notes that Valerie Fairman had a history of arrests.

“The charges include prostitution and, just last week she was busted for resisting arrest and providing false ID to law enforcement. She attempted to run from cops, who subdued her,” TMZ reports.

Fairman also struggled with drugs, an issue that was spotlighted when her story was covered on “16 and Pregnant.”
