The CW has picked up seven of its current series with early renewals for the 2017-18 season. The broadcast net announced pickups Sunday for “Arrow,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “The Flash,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”
“Supernatural,” by far the longest-tenured of the shows, will be back for its 13th season.
The announcement was made by CW President Mark Pedowitz during the network’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena.
In a statement, Pedowitz commented: “Over the past several seasons, the CW has built a schedule of proven performers, from our lineup of DC superheroes, to critically acclaimed comedies, to sci-fi dramas. Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
“Arrow” will be back for season six, “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” for season three, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” for season three, “The Flash” for season four, “Jane the Virgin” for season four and “Supergirl” for season three.
Premiere dates will be announced later.
